Every year, when January 1st hits, resolutions fly through your mind of how you can be better, do better and live better.
Inevitably, by the time Valentine’s Day rolls around, these resolutions have been broken. There you are, dwelling on guilt, wishing that you had followed through with your goals. If you feel as overwhelmed as I do with the annual push to get your life perfectly in order (and keep it there) on January 1st, just remember this one thing…
You will fail. But God will not.
It’s so valuable to ponder things in your life worth changing. Pursuits that are noble, true and good. This year, instead of getting ahead of yourself and planning on sabotaging your resolutions before you’ve even started them, just do.
The truth is, we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. Instead of waiting until January 1st to accomplish a goal, do it today. Make a conscious effort today to do the things that would improve your life in a positive way. Let the Lord lead you in your endeavors. When you walk with Him, the desires of His heart become the desires of yours. He will grant you the passion you need to complete something if it is in His will.
As Christians, we don’t need a calendar change to have a fresh start. The Lord is renewing us each and every day; constantly transforming us into His image.
Don’t just start 2016 with goals in mind, begin each day with a goal. Not just regular goals though, make goals that are enveloped in grace. Every day is a gift; a new beginning; an opportunity to rejoice! Make today the best that it can be.
{Speak these over yourself daily}
I am complete in Christ. Colossians 2:9-10
I have direct access to Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:14-16
I am free from condemnation. Romans 8:1-2
God works for my good in all circumstances. Romans 8:28
I cannot be separated from the love of God. Romans 8:31-39
I am confident that God will complete the good work He started in me. Philippians 1:6
I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
With that mindset, you can fill every day of 2016 with joy and thanksgiving! The best is yet to come! Believe it!
Hi Kaytlyn,
In light of current events, this is a good reminder of who you are in Christ. You are forever sealed!
Seek Him!
